It is important to understand the difference between the various tests on the market that can help you and your partner increase the chances of conception.

What’s the difference between the Fertell fertility tests and an ovulation prediction test?

There is an important role for both Fertell and ovulation prediction kits. Fertell is important because it evaluates your key fertility elements. While ovulation prediction kits do not test key fertility elements, they do provide important information about the timing of your ovulation cycle.

Fertell tells you about fertility

Remember, it takes two to make a baby! It’s a fact that fertility issues are almost evenly split between the sexes, and in about one third of cases, both partners may have issues4. That is why testing sperm motility and Ovarian Reserve early in the process is crucial. Fertell is unlike any other over-the-counter test and is not an ovulation prediction test.

Ovulation Predictor tests tells you about conception timing

A typical ovulation prediction test measures Luteinizing Hormone (LH), which increases as ovulation(when the egg is released from the ovary) is about to occur. While significant, an ovulation test only tells you the time in your cycle when you are most likely to conceive. It will not indicate Ovarian Reserve. Obviously, it will not assess any factors affecting the male.
