Female Fertility Test

Important: This information is intended to help understand how the Fertell Female fertility test works. To run the test, always refer to the “Instructions For Use” enclosed within the product packaging.

What it measures:

The female fertility test measures the level of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) present in first morning urine on Day 3 of her period (Day 3 FSH test). The level of FSH is an indicator of Ovarian Reserve, a key element of female fertility. The test measures for a normal FSH level, as described in the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) guideline and is the only at-home FSH test appropriate for fertility screening.

How it works:

The Fertell female fertility test is conducted similarly to an at-home pregnancy test. The female places the absorbent tip in her urine stream for 5 seconds. FSH in the urine reacts with antibodies on the test strip and shows as a red line in the result window. The intensity of this line reflects the FSH concentration (the darker the line, the more FSH present in urine).

Reading the results:

After 30 minutes, the results will be ready to read. The results are indicated by the number of lines and their shade of red.

Examples of types of results:

One reference line and no test line, indicates that your Ovarian Reserve is likely to be normal. Your efforts of trying to conceive should continue.

A test line that is lighter than the reference line also indicates that your Ovarian Reserve is likely to be normal. Your efforts of trying to conceive should continue.

If the test line is the same color or darker than the reference line, then a doctor should be consulted.
