In a recent survey, the AFA found that the majority of women don't understand their reproductive lifecycles. "Fertility, an unpredictable thing, generally begins its decline much earlier than we think. 88% of the women who took our survey overestimated by five to ten years the age at which it begins to diminish," explained Pamela Madsen, founder and Executive Director of the American Fertility Association.
"Women who delay first-time parenthood until after 30, about one in seven of those in their childbearing years, are shocked to discover that age compromises fertility," she added.
For some couples, Fertell can make all the difference,” explained Madsen. "I believe knowledge is power. Now, for the first time, with Fertell a couple has the ability to find out about some important aspects of each partner's fertility," she explained.
The American Fertility Association, founded in 1999, is a leading national organization dedicated to education, support and advocacy for men and women concerned with reproductive health, fertility preservation, infertility and all forms of family building. The AFA is a national, non-profit organization, based in New York City.
